Internet content Network Akamai has released its report " State of the Internet " for 2013. Highlights of the report include the change in the speed of worldwide Internet and the growth of large " attack traffic " originating in Indonesia . According to the report , during 2013 the global average internet speed is increased by 5.2 % to 3.3 Mbps .

The fastest Internet in the world can be found in Hong Kong , where the average speed reaches 65.1 Mbps , while South Korea is in second place with 53.3 Mbps . In the United States , the minimum speed is 8.7 Mbps internet and the average speed is 36.3 Mbps . Par in terms of Internet penetration , Akamai reports that there were 752 million unique IPv4 address , an increase of 13 percent compared with 2012 .

Akamai report also shows traffic malicious website . According to the report , 38 percent of such traffic comes from Indonesia , a big jump from 21 per cent in the first quarter of 2013 . China is in second place with 33 per cent ( from 34 per cent previously ) , followed by the U.S. with 6.9 percent ( from 8.3 percent in the first quarter ) .
