Apple and Android are leading the market in the U.S. to begin around 2014. A statistical company , ComScore , has done a study and come to these conclusions . Apple's smartphones are considered as best-sellers in the U.S. , reaching 41.6 % of the U.S. market during the three months of November , December and January . Manufacturer Samsung is in second place with 26.7 % market share of sales of smartphones , followed by LG with 6.9 % market share . Despite higher sales , Apple fails to have the same position as regards the operating system . ComScore data show that in terms of using the operating system , Google is in the first place .
