Yoshimoto Imura , a 27 - year-old from Japan , was arrested this week because he had five 3D printed guns , two of which were capable of firing . Police began investigating after discovering some videos posted by Imura and displayed weapons . Imura admitted having used the 3D printer to create these weapons , but did not know it was illegal .

The Japanese government has strict rules about those who carry firearms . A law firm in 1978 in Japan prohibits carrying of weapons , with exceptions . Japanese citizens are permitted to carry a firearm only if they had a hunting license . The licensing procedure for holding a gun is more difficult than to get a citizenship in a foreign country .

Creating 3D Printed weapons is becoming a very big concern . Last year , Defense Distributed created 16 different elements that , when united together , create a real gun .
